You won't know the facts until you've seen
the fiction.
The film that revived John Travolta's career. And it was no mean
feat for director Quentin Tarantino, who avoided the dreaded sophomore
slump after his acclaimed Reservoir Dogs. Here Tarantino weaves
together three interrelated stories about lowlifes, with his trademark
profane language, casual violence, and shifts between humor and
extreme brutality. The cast is overrun with top-notch talent: Samuel
L. Jackson (in a career-making role as Travolta's partner in crime),
Bruce Willis, Tim Roth, Christopher Walken, and Harvey Keitel are
just a few examples. The film's best section finds Travolta trying
to revive his boss's wife (Uma Thurman) after a drug overdose. Exhilarating
in its best moments and definitely not for the squeamish.

This critically acclaimed crime-drama features a liberal
dose of humor, and fantastic set designs and an all star cast.
The complex tale which contains three intermeshed plotlines, opens
in a coffee shop where lovers Honey Bunny and Pumpkin are preparing
to rob the joint. There are also nattily dressed hitmen Jules and
Vincent. Vincent is into fast food while Jules discusses the Bible.
They work for big-time crime boss Marsellus. After a recent hit, Vincent
takes out the boss's wife Mia. They go to an enormous 1950's style
diner (which is one of the film's most remarkable and expensive sets).
The two share heated conversation; at the evening's end, Vincent saves
Mia's life. Meanwhile, Butch, a boxer, jeopardizes his life when he
refuses to throw a fight Marsellus ordered him to lose. The film takes
more twists and turns than side-winder before the movie ends right
back where it began. --
