TYPEWRITER ==-
This British documentary, directed
and written by Adam Simon, presents a fascinating chronicle of one
of Hollywood's most illustrious writer/directors, Sam Fuller, now
in his eighties. Tim Robbins narrates and interviews the cigar-puffing,
tough old filmmaker Fuller in Paris, the city where he lived for
13 years before returning to the US in the mid-1990s. Fuller describes
the three primary phases of his professional life as a newspaperman,
a warrior and as a filmmaker. Three contemporary filmmakers, Martin
Scorcese, Jim Jarmusch and Quentin Tarantino describe the ways in
which Fuller's work influences their own. --
